Amy Vanderveer
LPC

Amy Vanderveer is an LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, and a board-certified Dance and Movement Therapist. The foundation of Amy’s clinical work is strengthening the awareness of the mind-body connection and increasing mindfulness. Through her practice, Amy supports clients to enhance their ego strength and develop coping skills, and to find their own sense of meaning and perspective in life. She works with children, adolescents, adults and families, and her clinical areas of focus include attachment, grief and loss, and trauma. She has a bachelor’s degree from Rider University, and a master’s degree from Drexel University in Creative Arts in Therapy, with a concentration in Dance and Movement Therapy.
Her previous clinical experiences include working in a partial hospitalization program for children, and outpatient therapy settings where she provided therapeutic services for children, adolescents, adults, and families. By the integration of her creative arts background, clinical skills and client centered approach, Amy creates a supportive and non-judgmental environment in which clients thrive. Amy is described as a “gentle and sensitive psychotherapist who is a natural healer, with a commitment to effective treatment and evidenced based practice.”
Amy is a supervisor at Evergreen for LAPC post masters trainees. As she is a board-certified Dance and Movement Therapist, Amy also provides supervision for dance and movement therapists seeking board certification. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the International Association of Trauma Professionals, and the American Dance Therapy Association.
